24 Hour Monitoring Service
At our Nottingham-based contact centre, our friendly local team will be on the end of the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.
This dedicated team takes more than 30,000 calls every month, 1,000 of which are critical and require an urgent response. Our call-centre operators are all trained in how best to deal with crisis situations, and are skilled in dealing with people in distress, while still alerting family, friends, or the emergency services.
Once you sign up to our Nottingham on Call service, a member of our team will visit your home to install your personal care alarm. This comes with a base unit, which is installed in your home using a phone line. This base unit responds to the button on a pendant, which you can wear around your neck or wrist. If you have a fall, are feeling very unwell, or are in need of help or assistance for whatever reason, you can press the button on your pendant and it will instantly call through to our contact centre.
Once you are connected, a member of the team in our local call centre will speak to you through the base unit in your home, to establish what the situation is. They will talk to you and try and make sure you’re able to communicate. The team is trained to know what signs to look out for in a person’s response. If they are at all concerned, they will contact the appropriate person – this may be a friend or family member, or in more extreme cases, this could be the emergency services.
When you sign up to Nottingham on Call, we will ask for the contact details of family or friends, living locally who we are able to contact in the event of an alert. Even if you live far away from your family member, we will still alert you to what has happened, as and when requested.
We know that every family is different, and everybody’s personal circumstances vary, so the way we respond to you, is tailored to your individual needs.
If you don’t have local family or friends, who are able to respond quickly in the event of an alert, don’t worry. We have a fleet of vehicles, and staff members working throughout the day and night. We will always have someone available to come out to you, if you have a non-medical emergency and need us to assist and provide reassurance.
